The countdown to Premia India Runway Week, New Delhi has begun. The four day event kicks off on the 29th of august and will be held at the Mapple Exotica Hotel in the fashion capital of India: Delhi. The upcoming weeks The Fashion Orientalist will feature the ‘must watch’ designers from the Premia India Runway Week for you on our website.
Sagar Mehra
Designer Sagar Mehra has been around for quite some time and designs luxurious gowns for women and stylish clothing items for men. I am a big fan of the sari-gown, the modern day version of a sari, where the classic Indian way of draping a sari gown is combined with a western style gown. Mehra’s purple sari-gown beautifully combines the traditional features of an Indian sari with a western silhouette and some heavy gold embroidery. His use of vibrant colors and heavy embroidery are something to look out for. Curious to see his collection during India Runway Week!
Minakshi Shangle – Mini Shangle
Fashion brand Mini Shangle is designed by Minakshi Shangle. Minakshi has enjoyed several courses in Fashion in fashion capitals like Paris, London and Delhi. Mini Shangle is a brand inspired by the cultures of the world. Her experience designing abroad is visible, as her collection is very contemporary. Her use of vivid colors and neons make her collection appealing to a younger audience. Shangle’s aim is to design comfortable clothing that celebrates a woman’s curves. Her dresses are very sexy and fierce, perfect for a night out with the girls.
Diamond Constellation by Priti and Punam
At The Fashion Orientalist we are captivated by all that sparkles! Diamond Constellation has been around for quite a while, producing fine jewellery made from high quality materials like gold, diamonds, rubies emeralds and more. Their newest collection ‘Extasia’ will be unveiled during Premia India Runway Week. The collection will capture the strength and beauty of diamonds with medallion style necklaces, precious pearls and statement neck pieces.
Sulish Verma, Vikas Chain & Jewellery
Jewellery brand Vikas Chain & Jewellery is known for its gold chains and bridal jewellery designs. The brand combines ethnic design with contemporary designs to produce stunning jewellery sets for blushing brides. The luxurious pieces are decorated with gold, pearls, diamonds and colorful gemstones. The collection by designer Sulish Verma is exquisite!
Swati Modo
Swati Mehrotra is a known Indian shoe designer and true shoe addict. Her shoe brand Swati Modo has been around for four years now with great success. We have featured some of Swati’s designs on The Fashion Orientalist before and admire her creativity when it comes to shoe design. Recently she has launched two new collections Swanky and Neeayti, the latter being a collection of comfortable bridal shoes. We look forward to seeing her designs ‘walk’ the runway during Premia India Runway Week.
