This week we will be featuring three Eid collections by different designers from the Pakistani fashion world. The holiday Eid al-Fitr will take place next week and is a time of celebration for Muslims from around the world who have successfully completed the Ramadan, a month of fasting. There are a lot of designers from the Middle East, Asia and other regions who design collections made especially for the month of Ramadan and Eid celebrations. Those celebrating next week will be looking their very best in brand new clothes as they visit family and friends and share gifts and food. Today I want to share an Eid collection with you designed by Ayesha Somaya, a luxury women’s wear designer label by Pakistani designer duo Ayesha Sohail and Somaya Adnan.
I have picked a few of my favorites from their luxury prêt-à-porter Eid collection, which can be seen in the gallery. My top favorite is a beautiful, purple one-shoulder gown with silver embroidery. Compared to other Eid designs this is a very modern look and less modest. I love the color, the floor length and soft, flowing fabric. Other favorites from this collection are more modest and traditional. These white gowns are a mix of traditional and modern. They are very feminine with a touch of glamour. The style is a modern version of a Shalwar Kameez, which is a loose blouse/dress combined with pants and (often) a scarf/dupatta accessory. The one-shoulder style and embroidery details make it look very sophisticated. I also adore the heavily embellished pant on the second look featured in the gallery. This collection from Ayesha Somaya shows you can add some color and sparkle to your Eid wardrobe this season!
