Luxury fragrance house Amouage has recently released two new fragrances: ‘Fate’ for both men and women and ‘Opus VII’ a unisex fragrance, part of the Amouage Library Collection. Today I will share my Amouage fragrance review with you.

Amouage Opus VII
Top Notes: Galbanum, Pink Pepper, Cardamom, Nutmeg, Fenugreek
Heart Notes: Agarwood Smoke, Patchouli, Ambrox, Leather, Ambergris
Base Notes: Costus Root, Muscone, Sandalwood, Olibanum, Cypriol
The first thought that crosses my mind when this fragrance enters the air is, ‘this scent would really suit a powerful business man’. It is a rather intense scent, extremely fresh, almost icy. Its aromatic and very masculine. It does have a more mainstream scent to it in comparison to other Amouage fragrances. Although the Library collection is unisex, I feel Opus VII would suit a man more than it would suit a woman.
This fragrance would be perfect for the autumn/winter months.
Amouage Fate Woman
Top notes: bergamot, cinnamon, chilli, pepper.
Heart notes: rose, narcissus, jasmine, frankincense, labdanum.
Base notes: vanilla bean, frankincense, benzoin, castoreum, patchouli, oakmoss, leather.
The sweetness of the scent is what strikes you at first, the fragrance greets you with warmth. It is a floral scent, but the spices give it a strong edge, although it’s very subtle like adding a hint of pepper to a savory dish; present but not overwhelming. It is a scent you can wear during the day, its presence is not heavy at all and very pleasant. I personally like it and would definitely purchase it.
Amouage Fate Man
Top notes: mandarin, saffron, absinth, ginger, cumin.
Heart notes: everlasting flower, rose, frankincense, lavandin, cistus, copahu.
Base notes: labdanum, cedarwood, liquorice, tonka bean, sandalwood, musk.
At first this scent is very pleasant, the ginger and mandarin are most present. After a while it gets a little overwhelming, it has a strong woody scent. It is spicy and fierce. In my opinion this scent is best for special occasions or evenings out. Although it is completely different from Fate woman, I do feel it has the same sweetness and warmth as its female version.
Conclusion: Amouage ‘Fate’ for women is a winner, a scent that can be worn for any occasion, its rich, luxurious but very subtle and sweet!
