It’s the most wonderful time of the year…and also the coldest time of the year, when most of us prefer to stay indoors, curled up under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate within a hand’s reach. A time to visit all your loved ones for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Which is the moment we have to move out of our comfortable jumpers and sweatpants and into a fancy outfit. I love this time of year! I now have an excuse to splurge on fancy dresses, makeup, accessories and shoes (while ignoring my bank statements for a little while..it’s the holidays…). I always like to pretend that I am going to a fancy red carpet show with my model friend Cara Delevingne and it-girl Emma Watson (a girl can dream…) and spend at least three hours to get ready. High heels are a very important part of your look this season and it is all about glamour and glitter! Designer Anas Younis Shanaah from luxury footwear brand Aennis Eunis amazes me every season with his stunning, signature heels, which is why I want to share some of my favorites from his winter collection with you today. Footwear musthaves this season:
Knee high boots – over the knee boots
Mini Mariah Carey; songstress Ariana Grande is a big fan of over the knee boots and is often spotted wearing them both on and off stage. Style icon Victoria Beckham also owns a great amount of boots and wears her knee high boots with tight jeans or a midi dress. These footwear styles are fierce, sexy and keep your feet and legs warm on a cold winter day! I would combine them with tight pants/jeans and an oversized jumper to create a winter ready look.
Styling tip: Always combine over the knee boots with modest items and keep your look simple to prevent from looking like Julia Roberts’ character from the film ‘Pretty Woman’.
Ankle boots
Another favorite for the winter. Ankle boots are great to combine with skinny jeans, but you can also wear them with a skirt and dark tights. Style wise you can take inspiration from Gossip Girl character Serena van der Woodsen (played by the beautiful Blake Lively) and style icon Olivia Palermo.
Strappy sandals with kitten heels
Add some glitter and glamour to your look by wearing strappy sandals with kitten heels or opt for pumps for a classic look. Combine these styles with (cocktail) dresses and gowns for the perfect party/formal look.
