London based fashion brand Trésors Sauvages was founded in 2012 by artist Amalie Beljafla and creative director Soraya Alali. Amalie and Soraya are from a Middle Eastern background from which they draw inspiration for their designs. They have created a unique concept for their brand which presents natural exoticism through their creations. The House of Trésors Sauvages is home to a creative team of young designers and artisans who put their minds and skills together to produce artistic and innovative collections.
Their autumn/winter 2013 ‘Flamingo’ collection takes inspiration from the endangered species in the UAE. They created a unique embroidery technique exclusively for this collection. Each piece of this collection is hand-crafted, hand-coloured and tailored in-house. A lot of time and effort was spent by these passionate designers to create the end product. They’ve used luxurious fabrics to work with, sourced from all around the world; Japanese cashmeres, Italian leathers, Shetland Island Sheep’s yarn and Indian acid-wash silks.
The intricacy of the embroidery and richness of the luxurious fabrics instantly draws your attention to the garments. You can see that a lot of hard work and creativity has gone into these designs and that a team of true craftsmen/women have worked long nights on it. Their hard work has paid off! This collection includes several pieces of art. Their floor-length ombre show-piece is a dramatic one. Intricate embroidery from top to bottom; graphic intensity! The reddish/pink color of the flamingo is visible throughout this collection, along with black and different shades of blue. The graphics of flamingo feathers and wings on pants, jackets and blazers emphasize the theme of this collection. It also gives the collection a certain fierceness, while the dramatic shapes of the garments give it a touch of masculinity. I really like the pony-fur little black dress, but my top favorites from this collection are the heavily embroidered jackets/blazers. Would love to own a jacket like that, it stands out and everyone will be wowed by the stunning graphics and embroidery!
