Changing nail colors every two weeks has always been a way to stand out for me. At a young age I started growing my nails and wanted them to look like the ones in nail polish adverts. At the very beginning my nails were far too weak to grow long and they’d always tear or break. After years of trying I now have long, strong and healthy nails. I am a big fan of statement nail colors, from candy pinks to deep blue and crazy metallic. When I was younger I wasn’t allowed to wear ‘grown up’ nail polish colors and was only allowed glitter and light colors. I tried every type of glitter nail polish I could find, but as soon as I reached a ‘mature’ age I dived into the beautiful world of bright and darker nail colors. I have to admit that I’ve never had the patience for nail art, but truly admire the artists on Instagram who create the most beautiful nail designs in a matter of minutes. I’ve tried many different types of nail polish and colors and soon learned a high price does not always mean that it is a good quality product. I also feel a lot of cheap nail colors lack color intensity. Which is why it is a real journey to figure out which brands work best for you. I am a big fan of Chanel and OPI nail colors, they release the most beautiful colors around. Real collector’s items! A cheaper option are the cute mini nail colors from Mavala Switzerland; great quality, great colors and great prices! I highly recommend them.
I like to wear darker and edgier colors during autumn/winter and brighter colors for spring/summer. From time to time I also like to hop on the trend-wagon, whenever I like the trending colors. My top favorite colors are the ones that stand out, I do not like to play it safe. When it comes to clothing I like to keep it simple, but nail colors should always be bright, edgy and bold. Several times I’ve received positive comments about my choice of nail colors from women while sitting in public transport. I enjoy sharing my latest finds with friends and family and love it when someone has a nail color they can recommend to me. In the gallery I’ve featured a few of my favorite colors:
Chanel – Le Vernis Nail Colour – Vendetta 483
Koh Cosmetics – The Rabbit Hole 355
Chanel – Le Vernis Nail Colour – Fantastic 481
Chanel – Le Vernis Nail Colour – Tulipe Noire 457
Let me know which colors you recommend!
