When the sun is shining bright and the weather is sweet, everything feels great! But when you want or need to wear makeup it is a little less fun (think sweat drops + make-up dripping down your face).
The Coola SPF 30 Makeup Setting Spray is a setting spray that promises us a lightweight spray that holds your makeup in place AND provides you with SPF. Sounds good right? On top of it all, this formula also contains green tea and aloe extracts to soothe and refresh, as well as hyaluronic acid to help bind moisture to the skin. Coola claims that 70% of the formula is comprised of organic ingredients.
After a few weeks of testing this product, it is time to let you know if this is THE perfect solution for makeup addicts in summertime or a real disappointment.
I would love to say that this product completely lived up to my expectations but then I wouldn’t be honest. My biggest problem with this product is that it contains alcohol. Organic alcohol (didn’t know that it existed?) but still…
The moment you spray it onto your face you experience an unpleasant sensation. My advice is to hold your breath and close your eyes tightly while spraying it on, afterwards wave away the mist that remains in the air or walk away from the area you applied it.
Thankfully, in the end, you will realize that this special applying ritual was worth it. The spray doesn’t feel greasy or look shiny. Your makeup stays pretty for a longer time, even if you spend a great amount of time soaking up the sun.
My final verdict? If you are looking for a setting spray that helps keep your makeup in place when it’s hot and also helps protect your skin in the sun, it is a good product. The only downside is the alcohol, but if you can get past the discomfort when you spray it on, it really is a musthave!
