Have you figured out what to wear this Christmas? No!? Don’t panic! You still have about ten days to decide what to wear. My weekend was all about getting into the festive spirit, which is why I’ve visited a local Christmas fair. I ended up buying marsala colored Christmas ornaments. According to Pantone, marsala (a color with red-brown roots) is THE color of 2015, which means my Christmas tree is quite fashion forward. I’ve also indulged in delicious crepes with Nutella and spend the rest of the evening singing along to Christmas songs from Josh Groban’s ‘Noël’ album while trying to figure out what to wear this Christmas. I’ve already selected a glamorous lace dress by Esprit, but still have to decide on everything else…from my makeup to what shoes to wear…and so on. Last week I realized my wardrobe includes glamour but lacks glitter. It is in need of some sparkle! Sequins? Beads? Glitter? Mirror work? Embroidery? I figured I needed some inspiration and found the perfect festive collection to get that from: Arpita Mehta’s collection ‘Starlight’.
Starlight
For her winter/festive collection Arpita Mehta was inspired by her grandmother, who had a very unique sense of style. This collection is called ‘Starlight’ because Arpita’s grandmother is like a star guiding her. It is a timeless Indian collection made from luxurious fabrics including different types of silk and chiffon. It includes both glamour and glitter. Traditional Indian gowns with a modern twist, decorated with button flower embroidery, foil work and Arpita’s signature mirror work. These embellishments make the garments shimmer and sparkle. The color palette is also perfect for the festive season and includes black, trend color pink and shades of grey.
I’m completely mesmerized by the beautiful silver/grey decorations! Check out my favorite looks from this collection in the gallery and let me know which one you like best!
