Spring has made an entrance. I am eagerly awaiting the moment I can replace my parka coat with thick fur hood & knee high suede boots for floral dresses & TOMS Jutti flats. Bring on the sunshine! The best way to celebrate the arrival of Spring is with a dose of Spring/Summer fashion.
Last month the Endemage sisters Lubna and Nadia Al Zakwani released their ready-to-wear Spring Summer 2018 collection. It consists of 15 gowns and takes us on an underwater journey through Oman’s Arabian gulf. The gulf has extensive reefs (mostly rocky but also coral) and mesmerizing aquatic plants. The gowns are decorated with shimmering beads and metallic embroidery reminiscent of the glistening ocean. The motifs show floating marine plants and corals.
The silhouettes are flowing like the undulating waves and include ballooning bell sleeves, layered tiers and asymmetrical draping. Movement and flow refer to the swelling of tides.
The colour palette exists of mint green, white, blush pink, beige, grey and pale yellow. Soft shades, giving the collection a romantic & feminine feel.
The elegant looks pay homage to the modern woman. Contemporary designs with a subtle nod to the sister’s Arabian heritage.
The intricate 3D embroidery adds texture and dimension to the looks. The blush pink and mint green looks stand out! The colours really compliment the designs. The fabrics seem light and flowing yet have a luxurious and effortlessly chic feel. I love that every Endemage collection tells a story related to the country of origin of Lubna and Nadia, which is Oman.
As I write this, outside my window rain starts pouring. What a contrast to the spring mood this collection has given me! Check out the gallery for my favourite looks from this collection, let’s daydream together of sunny spring days!
