Whether you have the funds to hire a control freak wedding planner to organize your dream wedding, or are putting this day together all by yourself, one thing is certain: a wedding is a big project that asks for a lot of careful planning and organizing. Thankfully there are a lot of beautiful wedding events that bring all types of wedding suppliers together in one place to introduce you to the best the wedding sector has to offer. On the 9th of June 2013 the Asian Wedding Experience took place in Manchester, United Kingdom. The event at the 4 star Renaissance Manchester Hotel managed to inspire many Asian couples for their big day by organizing special wedding workshops, catwalk shows and beautiful displays/showrooms to showcase regional wedding suppliers. The event was followed by an award show to celebrate the work of top suppliers.
Asian weddings are a lavish affair. Traditions vary depending on the culture and religion of the bride and groom. Competition amongst wedding suppliers is great and choices are endless. Most women have already painted the perfect picture of their wedding in their heads, all they have to do is make it all happen by selecting the right suppliers that are capable of fulfilling their wedding needs. Wedding shows are a perfect way to do your research. Having a large amount of suppliers together in one room makes it easy to sample and select whatever it is you are looking for to create a day that will stay in your memories forever. One tip when selecting gowns, jewelry and accessories is to get inspired by the latest bridal fashion shows. 31st of July marks the date of the PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2013. I am not telling you to purchase a designer gown that is far above your budget, but to get inspired by what is on show: colors, embroidery, silhouettes, new trends…take it all in and let this inspiration direct you to the gown of your dreams. Another great source for wedding information is the internet, with websites, blogs and reviews waiting to advice you. A beautiful wedding day option I encountered online is a string quartet that plays all the classic Bollywood love songs live.
Another tip is to do a test run when you have selected a make-up artist, hair artist or henna artist so you don’t end up with a sloppy look on your perfect day. I had professionals do my make up for different occasions and there really is a big difference in skill between artists. Sometimes they leave you with a look you could easily do yourself at home, which is not what you paid for.
My final tip of the day is: location location location. I work at two different wedding locations myself and know how much a location can change a wedding. A beautiful location also creates a stage for beautiful photography for your bridal album. Not all beautiful locations are pricey. A little research can take you to beautiful hidden locations without having to file bankruptcy after the wedding.
Research is everything when it comes to weddings. Trust your gut feeling when arranging your wedding, gather inspiration from wedding shows and collect opinions from your family and friends if needed. At the end of the day it is them and your partner who make your wedding day special.
