As we are still enjoying the final two weeks of summer, the fashion world is well prepared for the autumn/winter season. There are only a few things I love about the autumn-winter season; tree leaves turning red, yellow and orange making a beautiful autumn display, snow (if there is any…damn you global warming), Christmas and the fashion! I adore the autumn colours and Winters’ festive glitter and glamour.

The autumn colour palette of 2016 includes shades of blue (pantone Riverside, Airy Blue), green (pantone Lush Meadow), red (pantone Aurora Red), silver (pantone Sharkskin), earthy tones (pantone Potter’s Clay, Warm Taupe), mustard yellows (pantone Spicy Mustard) and purples (pantone Bodacious, Dusty Cedar).
Lakmé Fashion Week
Lakmé Fashion Week Winter-Festive 2016 took place from the 24th until the 28th of August with an opening show by Manish Malhotra and a grand finale by Sabyasachi. The latter drew a lot of attention, not just because of Sabyasachi’s stunning designs, but also because Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor walked the ramp in a heavily embellished green number, showing off her pregnancy like a true fashionista. What a beautiful sight to see!
Like most seasons of Lakmé Fashion Week this one also included many runway cameos by Bollywood actors and actresses.
