While we are still soaking up the sun at fancy resorts, holidaying and enjoying the summer, the fashion world is preparing for the colder seasons ahead of us. Predicting autumn and winter trends.
For their Autumn – Winter 2016 collection the Endemage sisters Lubna and Nadia Al Zakwani took inspiration from the beautiful mountains and natural springs from their home country Oman. They used shapes and styles women wore back in the day in Oman and gave it a modern, contemporary touch.
This collection shows a combination of fitted and flowy silhouettes. Casual seperates and classy gowns made from a combination of fabrics like velvet, organza, chiffon, silk and lace. The color palette includes both icy shades reflecting the winter and warmer colors for autumn. We see sandstone orange, navy blue, light blue shades, white and grey shades. I adore the intricate details, the embroidery is very dynamic showing the irregular shapes of the mountains and the peaks, decorated with chrystals and pearls reflecting the natural springs. The sheer, organza elements give it a touch of delicacy. Overall the collection is very feminine. It also looks very regal and powerful: modest looks, cape dresses, long skirts…Think fashionable royalty like Dutchess Kate Middleton or Queen Rania of Jordan.
Endemage embodies ethnic chic and luxury. The designer sisters’ aim is to revolutionize Middle Eastern fashion, uniting their Arabic heritage and culture with modern, contemporary style…which is why I, as The Fashion Orientalist, always look forward to seeing their latest collections!
I have added 6 of my top favorite looks from this collection in the gallery, let me know which is your fave!
