Designer sisters Lubna and Nadia Al Zakwani presented their spring – summer 2014 collection during the most recent edition of Fashion Forward Dubai. The inspiration for this collection is their Omani heritage, using traditional Omani embroidery and inspirational Islamic prints to decorate the garments. Endemage produces trendy and contemporary designs in which they incorporate cultural elements. Their ready-to-wear collection features fashionable looks, including high-waist and midi skirts, crop tops, dresses and pant-blouse ensembles. The color palette includes coral, peach, white, ivory and shades of purple. The collection mimics the beauty of the Arabian Gulf and the pearls found within. The luxurious, shiny fabrics might refer to these rare and spectacular pearls, while the coral, ombre looks and purple shades remind me of sand dunes and purple sunset skies. The fabrics used for this collection seem very light and easy to move around in, which is perfect for strolls in the park and outdoor picnics.
Endemage caters to a young and sophisticated audience. Their silhouettes are very elegant and feminine. The overall look of this collection is very romantic and flirty. The styles are modest, while some reveal skin. Delicate and innocent, but also flirty; a perfect look to go for during spring!
I love the shades of purple and coral/peach used for this collection. The ombre looks are very fashion forward. The intricate laser-cut Islamic motifs are a stunning view. My favorite pieces from this collection are a pair of white pants combined with a soft purple top, loose fit, revealing a hint of skin around the stomach. The white embroidery gives it a touch of orient. Another favorite is a purple jumpsuit-style ensemble, decorated with white embroidery. It looks super comfortable and very chic at the same time. I also adore the long-length, coral/white – ombre skirt combined with a white, corset top. The bare shoulders are sexy, but the overall look is simple and feminine. This collection includes several items I would love to add to my list of spring musthaves!
