FDCI – Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2015 (AIFW) took place from the 25th until the 29th of March in New Delhi, India. I was impressed by the quality and diversity of the designs that appeared on the AIFW runway this season. Although Autumn and Winter aren’t my favorite seasons when it comes to the weather (Europe), they are my favorite when it comes to fashion. It is the season to layer up and mix and match luxurious fabrics, accessories and darker, richer colors. The AIFW ramp showed a lot of designs in different shades of blue (mostly darker shades), reds, and black and white. Metallic/shimmery fabrics, ethnic prints, suits and winter proof embroidery were also popular. My favorite collections were by Samant Chauhan and Sahil Kochhar, Samant went for a red/white color palette, classic Indian looks, intricate embroidery and capes. A collection perfect for the autumn season! Sahil Kochhar is an extremely talented designer and his AW 2015 collection is a must see; creative and dynamic, cutouts and textures, different layers and beautiful colors! I’ve added my favorite looks from AIFW AW2015 to the gallery!
25th edition – The Grand(est) Finale (ever)
AIFW showcased 25 designers during The Grand Finale, to celebrate the 25th edition of the FDCI’s India Fashion Week. The designers showed us their individual interpretations of the theme ‘Crafts of India’. The aim of the show was to celebrate the richness and heritage of Indian craft. Each of the 25 designers presented two ensembles in tones of red, orange and pink. A diverse collection including Indian, Fusion and Western/Contemporary designs. Check out my 10 personal favorites from this collection below. Which one is your favorite?
