The 8th edition of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2015 took place from the 18th until the 21st of April in Pakistan. The event, organized by the Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC), showcased the prêt a porter collections from talented Pakistani designers and focused on the hottest trends for the summer months. My top favorite collection is by designer HSY. ‘INK’ was inspired by Asia and specifically HSY’s journeys to The Land of the Rising Sun. HSY was influenced by the craftsmanship from Langwaki, Indonesia, Nagasaki and Yunnan. HSY’s collection is very dynamic. The colors are bright and vivid including indigo blue, aubergine and rosette. Different layers, textures, fabrics, prints and colors merged into one design. The cultural influences are very present making this collection an oriental gem! The summer trends introduced during the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2015 were; flowy maxi skirts, florals, colorful prints/textiles and oriental influences. The color blue is also a trend color for the summer. A lot of designers were inspired by their own world travels, showcasing influences from all over the world. The oriental journey is very popular in fashion design! A lot of contemporary designs took the ramp during fashion week, but we also saw a lot of beautiful traditional Pakistani styles, like during Nida Azwer’s collection showcase. Which is also one of my favorite collections and inspired by Iznik (Turkey) and Persian ceramic patterns. I’ve selected 16 of my favorite designs from PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2015 for you in the gallery and I must say, it is a real treat to look at all of these wonderful designs! Let me know which design is your favorite…
