I’ve been browsing the world wide web in search of inspiration for my summer wardrobe. The temperatures are rising and my wardrobe needs a summer upgrade badly. Out with the black skirts and in with the floral prints! The news of Nisha Sainani’s summer collection reached my inbox at the right time. Nisha’s collection ‘Sunshine, Freedom and a Little Flower’ is perfect for summer and includes fashion essentials like midi skirts, summer dresses and jumpsuits. This collection was inspired by a quote from Hans Christian Andersen, a known Danish author best remembered for his fairytales:
‘Just living is not enough… one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower’
This quote embodies the vibe of this collection for which Nisha collaborated with artist Vineeta Nair. It is an unique art and fashion collaboration! The romance of vintage summers Nisha Sainani’s summer collection is playful, flirty and young with a rebellious edge. A good example of flirty and rebellious is a sexy leather crop-top combined with a French writing/floral vintage skirt made from pure crepe silk. I adore this skirt and am planning to stock my wardrobe with midi and maxi length skirts this summer. I am also a sucker for floral prints and love this vintage summer dress made from pure crepe silk with floral print. The fit of this dress is perfect and the pleated skirt of this dress makes it look flirty and romantic. My top favorite from this collection is a jumpsuit made from pure crepe silk with geometric rose print. This one is a must-have! I love the dark green color, the flare leg pant and red/pink rose print. Nisha has also designed a few modern interpretations of traditional Indian clothing styles; the sari and the lehenga. The summer bridal lehenga in 3D floral with sequins, beads and pearl detailing is a beautiful design. I like the mint green color of this gown and the floral details on the skirt and scarf. The vintage look of this collection is very ‘Hollywood diva holidaying in Europe’. Which is definitely a look I want to go for this summer, now all I need to do is upgrade my wardrobe and plan my Mediterranean summer holiday!
