The Bride and Luxury Prêt edition of Fashion Parade London took place on the 6th of February at One Marylebone, a historic location built in 1826-28 and formally known as the Holy Trinity Church. This event was organised by Sadia Siddique’s Mustang Productions and aims to showcase the best of Pakistani fashion to the world. This edition included the works of 10 Pakistani designers and presented the latest Pakistani bridal trends.
Designer brand Tena Durrani showcased their bridal capsule collection ‘A Rouge Affair’. ‘A Rouge Affair’, as the name reveals, focuses on the colour red in all its various interpretations. The collection symbolises the modern-day bride. It is a fusion between traditional and contemporary. The colour palette includes more than just deep reds; stunning gowns in gold and crisp white also feature. The intricate embroidery and embellishments stand out; Swarovski sparkle and shimmering sequins compliment the looks. Floral motifs give the designs a touch of romance. The silhouettes are très feminine but also include top & pant ensembles, emancipating bridal fashion styles. My personal favourite from this collection is an ensemble consisting of a sleeves white top, made from a light fabric, combined with a long skirt with heavy gold embroidery at the bottom. It is very East meets West and Modern meets Traditional, which is perfect for a neo-bride.
